The American Sustainable Business Council (ASBC) organized a meeting on January 23rd, 2014 with Labor Secretary Thomas Perez, other Department of Labor officials, and ASBC business leaders and staff, to discuss the business case for family and medical leave insurance and paid sick days. Businesses in attendance included New Belgium Brewing, Warby Parker, Eileen Fisher, Uncommon Goods, and American Income Life Insurance and others. The business leaders each presented the Secretary with a synopsis of their own strong leave policies, and made the case for why leave policies are good for business.
