Good for Business? The Case of Paid Sick Leave in Connecticut (Report)

The data from this report was collected through a survey of 251 Connecticut employers and 15 site visits or manager interviews concerning the effect of the paid sick days law. The authors report that the law had minimal effects on business, with the majority of employers reporting no affect on business operations and no or only small increases in costs. Employers also reported decreases in the spread of illnesses and increases in morale. Eighteen months after implementation, three-fourths of employers surveyed report being very supportive of somewhat supportive of the law.
