New parents who work for Dane County could get 10 weeks of paid leave to focus on their new family members, under a county proposal.
County employees could take advantage of the paid parental leave starting Jan. 1, said county spokeswoman Stephanie Miller.
The program would include mothers and fathers. It would also cover adopted children.
If approved, the program would cost the county $642,000 a year, Miller said. She said the program would offer the most paid parental leave of any Wisconsin county.
