Obama Planning to Require Paid Sick Leave for Contractors (August 5, 2015)

President Barack Obama is considering requiring federal contractors provide their employees with paid sick leave as part of his attempt to prod businesses to improve pay and benefits for U.S. workers.
An executive order the White House is preparing would require at least seven days of paid leave per year for illness or to care for family members, according to a draft copy obtained by Bloomberg News.
The order would also apply to subcontractors, and its impact would be widespread given the thousands of companies that do business with the federal government.
